The Hong Kong SAR government held a press conference on the afternoon of the 28th to introduce the latest situation of the Wang Fook Court fire in Tai Po and the progress of search and rescue. Tang Bingqiang, Director of the Security Bureau of the SAR Government, said that the fire has so far killed 128 people.

The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Lee Ka-chiu, met with reporters yesterday on the follow-up work on the Tai Po fire. He said that the SAR government is preparing a list of supplies and support and hopes to receive assistance from mainland units through the Central Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office and relevant emergency mechanisms. The list includes reconnaissance drones, boosters to help firefighters climb multiple levels of stairs, transportation conveyor belts, etc., as well as medical antidotes, medical supplies for treating burns, laboratory testing materials, etc.
