According to the "Customs Release" public account, Luohu Customs recently discovered a case of using modified mobile phones to hide smuggled gold products during the travel inspection entry channel. According to reports, two passengers entered the country through the Luohu Port Travel Inspection Hall one after another that day, and were intercepted and inspected by on-site customs officers.

Customs officers found that although the two people's mobile phones were in normal use, their weight was obviously abnormal.

After machine inspection image analysis and disassembly, it was found that the original battery of the two parties' mobile phones had been modified and shrunk, and a gold block was placed on the back of the mobile phone at the position of the original battery, weighing 205.6 grams and 207.2 grams respectively, for a total of 412.8 grams.

Judging from the phone's rear camera and size, the modified machine should be the iPhone XS Max released in 2018. This is Apple's first ultra-large-screen phone in the full-screen era, with a screen of 6.5 inches.

Therefore, the dimensions of the machine also reach 157.5*77.4*7.7mm, and the weight is 208 grams. A larger-capacity battery is inserted to ensure a long battery life.

In order to optimize the motherboard space, Apple has adopted an L-shaped dual-cell solution since iPhoneX, which can be regarded as two batteries connected in series, so that the internal space can be more fully utilized.

The passenger who was caught this time took advantage of this and removed a battery cell and stuffed it with gold. The phone could still be used normally, but the battery life was greatly reduced.

However, each mobile phone was stuffed with more than 200 grams of gold. The weight was obviously too different from the original 208 grams, so it was discovered and intercepted.

Customs reminder: According to Article 7 of the "Regulations on the Implementation of Customs Administrative Punishments of the People's Republic of China", anyone who evades customs supervision by hiding, disguising, concealing declarations, making false declarations or other means, transporting, carrying, or mailing goods or items that are prohibited or restricted from entry or exit by the state, or goods or items that are subject to tax in accordance with the law, is smuggling and will be held legally responsible.
