Apple has begun lifting iMessage bans for Mac users who previously lost access to Beeper after giving it access, but it's still unclear why these practices were implemented in the first place. In mid-January, Apple began banning a small number of Mac users from using the iMessage platform after allowing Beeper into its messaging platform. As of January 21, Beeper said approximately 30 users reported being banned.

Apple did not issue any warning to users before banning it, a move believed to be retaliation for use of the controversial messaging app. Apple cited "spam" as the reason for the hardware disabling, Beeper reported.

However, some users are now reporting that these Macs are starting to regain access to iMessage. Beeper believes Apple's move was an attempt to reduce negative press after The New York Times began investigating the matter.

For users who are still facing Mac disabling, Beeper advises them to seek help from Apple Support. Users are also encouraged to report their situations in the Beeper app.

Beeper noted that it has disabled users from initiating new iMessage connections from BeeperCloud.

In December, Beeper made a way to connect to iMessage using a real Mac and made that registration work with BeeperCloud and Beepermini. This workaround allows Android users to send messages to the iMessage network.

The workaround is to provide access using the user's own hardware or real registration data on a Mac they have access to. However, the result of this is that out of 3,500 users who established iMessage connections, about 30 users were disabled.
