Popular video chat software Zoom announced that starting from the launch date of February 2, users will be able to participate in virtual meetings through Apple Vision Pro. Apple's new spatial computing headset will be available to users in early February. Although there are not many apps available yet, we believe that more apps will appear in the next few months. For example, Zoom will be a practical tool.
"Zoom on Apple Vision Pro helps teammates stay connected no matter when and where they work, no matter how they communicate and collaborate," Zoom chief product officer Smita Hashim said in a statement. "Zoom's integration with Vision Pro and visionOS extends our platform promise to give attendees the ultimate meeting experience anywhere and delivers on our promise of seamless collaboration and communication." "
According to Zoom, it will support Personas at launch, which are 3D avatars of Apple Vision Pro users that will also facilitate "spatial Zoom experiences," or spatial workspaces that users access during Zoom calls.
Later this spring, Zoom plans to add other features such as 3D object sharing. This feature will allow game designers and animators wearing Apple Vision Pro to share and view 3D object files in 3D space.
Real-world "pinning" will allow users to connect up to five meeting participants in their own physical space, and even include the option to remove the background of the pinned user. This feature is designed to make Apple Vision Pro users feel more connected to the people in the meeting, and Zoom will also add TeamChat support later.
Apple Vision Pro started pre-sales on January 19, and as many as 180,000 units are suspected of being ordered in the first batch. As expected, the new product was snapped up by enthusiastic early adopters and scalpers alike.
The first batch of VisionPro is expected to begin shipping to customers on February 2.
