According to the official WeChat account of "State-owned Assets Xiaoxin", the world's first four-seat hydrogen internal combustion aircraft prototype successfully made its first flight at Fakucaihu Airport in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. It is understood that hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engine aircraft use hydrogen fuel as propulsion energy, and their carbon emissions are close to zero.

The prototype aircraft tested this time is equipped with China's first 2.0-liter zero-emission supercharged direct-injection hydrogen fuel internal combustion engine. The main core components have initially been domestically produced, and the engine power has been tested to reach 120 kilowatts.

Flight safety is the primary goal in the development of hydrogen internal combustion aircraft. In order to prevent deflagration caused by hydrogen leakage, Liaoning General Aviation Research Institute used digital simulation analysis to set up ventilation channels in corresponding parts of the aircraft and cleverly utilized the airflow during flight to achieve air circulation in the hydrogen storage cabin so that leaked hydrogen can be discharged in a timely manner.

The previous demonstrator of this model completed a verification test flight at an airport in Shenyang in March last year. It was the first general aviation aircraft independently developed by my country to be powered by a hydrogen internal combustion engine.
