Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan released a new commercial for PS5, starring the popular girl group "New School Leaders". The official also showed off some of the latest games on the PS5 platform. Games on display include SE's Final Fantasy 7 Reborn and Bubble Star, Sega's Yakuza 8, and Koei Tecmo's Rise of Ronin (we'll see more of that at tomorrow's event).

The ad is accompanied by the song "Born to Be Free!!!!" and the choreography uses the PlayStation symbol, which is ○×△□.

The members of the group also imitated some scenes in the game promotion, such as the bubble shooting in "Bubble Star", the battle in "Yakuza 8", the horse riding in "Rise of Ronin", and the signature confrontation between Sephiroth and Cloud that appeared in the latest trailer of "Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth".

Sony also shared a behind-the-scenes video of the making of the billboard, which you should check out if you're a fan of "New School Leaders."

Such celebrity-led commercials are nothing new for Sony Japan, especially before major new game releases or at the start of each quarter to drum up excitement. This advertisement is to build momentum for PS5’s 2024 spring game lineup.
