According to reports from multiple current and former employees on social media, GameSpot, a gaming media owned by Fandom, has experienced a round of layoffs. Social media posts from employees did not detail the scope of the layoffs or the major departments, saying only that "some people" were being laid off.

A spokesperson for Fandom responded to GI.biz and said the company would not provide any statement on the matter.

This is the second wave of layoffs the site has suffered since Fandom, an online entertainment company that operates a fan community wiki, acquired GameSpot and various other assets from Red Ventures in October 2022.

GameSpot experienced its first layoffs more than a year ago, when sister site GiantBomb also suffered layoffs.

Because no official announcement has been made, it is unclear whether the new layoffs are limited to the GameSpot website or whether they will affect the entire Fandom business.
