Wireless technology company MorseMicro has set a new Wi-Fi connection distance record of 3 kilometers using equipment of the Wi-Fi HaLow standard (802.11ah).It is reported that in this test of MorseMicro, when a video call was started far away from a Wi-Fi hotspot, the connection speed ranged from 11Mbps at 500 meters to 1Mbps at 3 kilometers, which is enough to maintain a normal video call.
During the entire test process, Wi-Fi signals can be transmitted over long distances and have strong anti-interference capabilities.
The test location was a beach, next to busy highways and residential areas. Wireless signal interference within several kilometers of the city is very serious, and it has now been proven that it can effectively handle real-world application scenarios.
In addition to its long distance and strong anti-interference ability, Wi-FiHaLow consumes less power than ultra-high-speed mainstream Wi-Fi solutions such as Wi-Fi6/6E/7.MorseMicro used its own MM6108 Wi-Fi HaLow chip for testing, which has passed Wi-Fi Alliance and FCC certification.
