During today's fiscal first quarter earnings conference call for fiscal 2024, Apple CEO Tim Cook commented on Apple's work in artificial intelligence. He said Apple is investing "huge" time and effort in artificial intelligence, with specific details to be announced later this year.

"Going forward, we will continue to invest in these and other technologies that will shape the future. This includes artificial intelligence, in which we continue to invest significant time and effort, and we are excited to share details of our ongoing work in this area later this year."

There are rumors that Apple’s upcoming iOS 18 software version may be the “biggest” software update in the history of the device and is rumored to feature a variety of artificial intelligence features.

Apple is said to be developing generative artificial intelligence technology that will improve Siri, messaging apps, and more. Artificial intelligence may be integrated into the entire operating system, Apple Music, Pages, Xcode and other applications.

Apple is planning to add a large language model to Siri to allow Siri to automatically perform complex tasks, thereby achieving deep integration of Siri and shortcut applications.
