It was recently reported that Konami is considering porting the Silent Hill series to current generation consoles. In the fourth video of the five documentary shorts released by Konami for "Silent Hill: Short Message", a level designer revealed that Konami initially contacted Hexadrive's team (which is mainly engaged in porting old games) and asked it to help Konami's internal team develop "Short Message" and mentioned the possibility of porting the "Silent Hill" series.
Hexadrive level design director Rika Miyatani said that they initially contacted Konami because they wanted to persuade Konami to let them make "Silent Hill 2: Remastered", but they were unsuccessful. Konami has chosen Polish horror game developer BlooberTeam.
Just six months later, Konami contacted them again to discuss Silent Hill: Short Messages. "Everyone in our studio is a huge fan of Silent Hill," Miyatani said. "We think a port would be great, but what we really want to see is a remake of Silent Hill for current generation consoles."
