In an increasingly fierce competitive environment,There are only six major players left in the Chinese mobile phone market. These six major manufacturers contribute 96% of the total market and have become the absolute mainstream.The latest data released by TechInsights shows that,China's smartphone shipments fell by -0.3% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2023, reaching 71.2 million units.

This is the 11th consecutive quarter of annual declines for the market, although the decline has gradually narrowed. In 2023, China's smartphone market will ship 261.7 million units, a year-on-year decrease of -5.8%.

On the manufacturer side, Huawei's strong comeback is reshaping China's smartphone market, putting pressure on all competitors.

This quarter,Apple regained the top spot in the Chinese market with a 20% market share, but its performance was below the market, with shipments showing a double-digit decline.

Honor and vivo followed with 17% and 16% market share respectively. The two manufacturers' market share and shipments dropped significantly compared with the same period last year.

Huawei ranked fourth with a market share of 16%, almost doubling its market share. Such rapid growth was achieved against the background of supply constraints.

OPPO (OnePlus) drops to fifth place, followed by Xiaomi, contributing 14% and 13% market share respectively. These six major manufacturers contributed 96% of the total market, an increase from 95% a year ago.

TechInsights said that other small and medium-sized manufacturers in China still face huge challenges in the local market and are limited by scale and channel existence.
