The PCIe Gen5 SSD market is starting to heat up with the likes of Sabrent and MSI getting on board, and now Crucial is getting in on the action to make things even more interesting. The new Crucial T705 was exposed by momomo_us and will feature flagship specifications, including a "dedicated" cooling mechanism, while also having a stylish aesthetic.

The Crucial T705Gen5 solid-state drive will be sold in two different forms, one is the basic version, and the other is the "limited edition". The latter uses a white heat sink design, which looks really pleasing to the eye. They will be available in different storage configurations, including 1TB, 2TB and 4TB options, giving consumers a wealth of choices.

The Crucial T705Gen5 SSD is expected to have read speeds of up to 14,500MB/s, which puts it at the top when compared to existing products in the industry. In addition, the SSD has a random read IOPS of 1.55 million and a random write IOPS of 1.8 million, which will be a good choice considering the improvements over the previous generation.

This is a huge improvement over the Crucial T700Gen5 SSD we tested a while ago, which uses the new PhisonE26max14um controller to enable these ultra-fast storage capabilities. It's worth noting that Crucial hasn't officially made this SSD available yet, so we might see some changes to the final specs, but that's unlikely to happen. There are a few details missing about the T705 right now, such as the specifics of the DRAM cache, but we should find out soon.
