At the end of 1999, Tencent QQ team entrusted the important task of logo design to Zhuangzi’s company.Penguins have a special connection with "communication" - "I can find you even in Antarctica,"Therefore, we decided to use the penguin image for the design.
In the final draft stage, the QQ team had one fat penguin and one thin penguin.In the end I chose the chubby version because the chubby version is cuter.
In addition, Zhuangzi also believes that,Penguins don’t have to be symmetrical, differences can make them “more agile”——So the penguin’s eyes were made into wink shapes, and the wings were one high and one low.
