The 2024 World Mobile Communications Conference (MWC) will kick off in Barcelona, Spain on February 26. The Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) announced the nomination list for the MWC2024 Mobile Device Awards, including the three categories of Best Smartphone, Breakthrough Device Innovation and Best Connected Consumer Device.
GLOMO has shortlisted smartphones from Apple, Google, OnePlus, OPPO and Samsung in the best smartphone category, which includes both foldable and non-folding devices.
In the "Breakthrough Device Innovation" nominations, Google was shortlisted for its artificial intelligence imaging capabilities and commitment to Pixel software updates, while Honor was shortlisted for MagicV2's silicon-carbon dual-battery technology. In addition, Snapdragon 8Gen3 SoC is also on the list.
The Best Connected Consumer Devices category includes devices that "bring new smart applications, efficiencies and capabilities to users at home or on the go."
There is also a "Best in Show" category, but it has not yet been nominated. After all, MWC hasn't started yet. GLOMO said the winner of the category "will be selected from products or devices launched before and during MWC2024" and that "the award will be judged based on the best products at the show and will be considered on-site by a select group of judges."
