Debian 12.5, the latest stable "point" version of this widely used Linux distribution, was released this weekend to provide the latest security fixes and various bug fixes. Debian12.5 is the latest update of the Debian "Bookworm" series. Debian 12.5 updates software packages such as FileZilla and Dropbear that were used in Terrapin attacks, and fixes the problem of using ISL packages on old CPUs.
The new version also updates time zone data, fixes an infinite loop issue with PyPDF/PyPDF2, enables BerkeleyDB read-only backend support for RPM, updates time zone data, and dozens of other security fixes and general bug fixes.
Security fixes include Chromium, LibreOffice, X.OrgServer, cURL, FirefoxESR, OpenJDK, and a host of other widely used software.
