Earlier this week, leaker "Sensa Digital" on the Chinese blogging site Weibo claimed that Apple will release iPad-related news next Tuesday (March 26), suggesting that a press release may be issued before the pre-sale and launch date. However, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman now comments that this statement is "not true."
While questioning the March 26 announcement, Gurman also didn't reveal any specific news about the release or launch date of the new iPad Pro and iPad Air in development. The general time frame he recently pointed out was "around the end of March or April."
Gurman further elaborated on this timing in the latest issue of his PowerOn newsletter, saying that "iPadOS 17.4" that will be available on the new iPads won't be ready until at least later this month, and it may take "a few weeks" to install the software on the first shipping models. Gurman said that although the new iPad may be released a little earlier, a new entry-level iPad may be launched "next month."
In addition to revamped iPad Pro models with OLED displays, Apple's M3 chip, and other enhancements, we can also expect updated iPad Air models, including a new 12.9-inch size option. Apple is also reportedly planning to launch a new Magic Keyboard and a new Apple Pencil for the iPad Pro.
