Microsoft Edge 123 is now available in the stable channel. The latest feature update provides bug fixes, performance improvements, and security patches. Additionally, Edge123 includes two new enterprise-focused features and a host of new policies. Details are as follows:


What are the new features of Microsoft Edge 123?

The official release notes for Microsoft Edge 123 do not list every bug fix and improvement. However, you can find more details in the changelog for each EdgeDev123 version:

  • Edge123 also includes Chromium security updates and two Edge-specific hotfixes (CVE-2024-26247 and CVE-2023-29057).

    Here are the new features:

    Customize your organization's brand with Microsoft Edge management services.Administrators can customize their organization's brand assets on Edge for Business through Microsoft Edge Management Services. The branding helps users logged in with EntraID (formerly Azure Active Directory) more easily differentiate between multiple profiles and browser windows through profiles.

    This Microsoft Edge Management Services feature will provide administrators with a better experience in configuring, previewing and customizing how Edge for Business displays the following organizational brand assets:

  • Organization name

  • embellishment color

  • Organization identification

  • EdgeforBusiness taskbar icon overlay

    Provides automatic profile switching control for Microsoft Edge for Business in Microsoft Edge Management Services. Microsoft Edge Management Services will provide administrators with the ability to configure automatic profile switching settings in the Microsoft Edge browser. This helps achieve contextual separation between the end user's work browsing and personal browsing. Note: This experience is a public preview and can be accessed by selecting the target version to enter the M365 Management Center.

    You can update Microsoft Edge to the latest version by visiting edge://settings/help. Alternatively, continue using it as usual and the browser will update automatically the next time you restart.
