"There's a huge difference in how people think about it, depending on whether they've read about it in a book or whether they've actually tried it," Cook said. "I believe more in the profound implications of spatial computing. When you try it, you get that 'eureka' feeling that only happens a few times in your life."
While analysts don’t expect sales of the Vision Pro headset to be very good in its first year on the market and have expressed doubts about Apple’s ability to reduce costs, Cook remains positive about the headset’s future impact.
Cook, who has been in Europe meeting with app developers, said Apple has seen "some incredible work" so far. He went on to explain that the headset will launch in 2024 and "(developers) are very excited about it."
This headset will also focus on gaming applications, and Apple is consolidating its reputation in the gaming field with the iPhone 15 Pro model. The A17 Pro in iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max enables console-quality gaming, and Apple is working with developers to bring console games to the device. Cook said that Apple is "very serious" about gaming and that gaming "is not a hobby for the company and we are working hard on it."
