The requirements for listing some apps on the Apple App Store also include: game apps must obtain an online game publication number; books and newspaper and magazine apps must hold an "Online Publishing Service License" issued by the National Press and Publication Administration of China (NPPA); news apps must hold an "Internet News Information Service License" issued by the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC).
It is understood that in August this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Notice of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Carrying out the Registration of Mobile Internet Applications" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice").
It mentioned that the organization carries out the registration work of mobile Internet applications (referred to as App), requiring App sponsors engaged in Internet information services within the territory of the People's Republic of China to perform registration procedures in accordance with the "Anti-Telecommunications Network Fraud Law of the People's Republic of China", "Internet Information Services Management Measures" and other provisions.
Those who fail to complete the filing procedures are not allowed to engage in App Internet information services.
According to the work arrangement, from September 2023 to the end of March 2024, apps that started business before the issuance of the "Notice" will complete the filing procedures with the provincial communications bureau where their residence is located.
From April 2024 to the end of June 2024, the telecommunications authorities will organize supervision and inspection of App registration status.Apps that have not yet completed the filing procedures will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
Some netizens reported that apps already on the App Store can be reviewed normally without filling in a registration number. However, if there is no registration number in April next year, the app may be removed from the shelves.
