Microsoft is pursuing an acquisition of Activision Blizzard and all of its studios and game franchises, including Call of Duty. Activision President Rob Kostich believes that if the deal is successful, the "Call of Duty" series is expected to benefit from leveraging Microsoft's extensive resources.

Kostich revealed in an interview: "Leveraging Microsoft's technology and tool suite will benefit our team and create more engaging experiences for our players. Ultimately, the key is to turn our development team's creative ideas into reality in this extremely competitive environment."
Kostich said that being acquired by Microsoft is a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" for Activision Blizzard. However, he was reluctant to discuss the acquisition in depth because "we still need to let the regulatory process take its natural course."
Kostich explained: "As we have said before, this deal will be good for the entire industry and players will have access to more games."
If Microsoft successfully overcomes the final regulatory hurdles and closes the deal, Call of Duty may not be coming to XGP immediately. If all goes well, the completion of the acquisition may have to wait until 2025, and in the next 10 years, the "Call of Duty" series will still be available on PlayStation consoles.
