The Galaxy S23 Ultra defeated the iPhone 14 Pro Max in a previous speed test, ending a 1,244-day unbeaten streak. Now, in the latest test of the two flagships, the iPhone 15 Pro Max manages to beat back Samsung's best, as the 8GB RAM upgrade only helps Apple's latest and greatest get to the finish line first.

At the end of the speed test, the gap between iPhone 15 Pro Max and Galaxy S 23 Ultra was only 4 seconds.
Before the speed test began, PhoneBuff pointed out that the A17 Pro and 8GB RAM running in the iPhone 15 Pro Max were the two biggest upgrades this year, indicating that these two upgrades should have an impact on the Galaxy S23 Ultra in the latest speed test. At first, Samsung's flagship phone maintained the lead, but in various applications and tests, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has been competing with the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
At the end of the first round, the iPhone 15 Pro Max ranked first with a time of 1 minute and 58 seconds, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra trailed its opponent by only a slight gap of 2 minutes. Assuming Apple didn't include 8GB of RAM on its "Pro" model, the high-end model would likely lose out on the second lap, but that's not the case.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max can keep all apps open in the background, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra can do the same, with the final overall performance of this high-end Android model being only 4 seconds slower.
The YouTuber also mentioned the temperatures of both phones. While there have been numerous reports that the iPhone 15 Pro Max heats up under load, it doesn't exhibit the same behavior in the above video, and the device is said to be only one degree hotter than the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Apple's 6.7-inch top-of-the-line model emerged victorious in speed tests, but that victory may be short-lived as the Galaxy S24 Ultra is set to be released in a few months.
