According to reports, 53-year-old Brian Morrison from Grasse said that last Sunday night,When he was driving his brand new MG ZSEV electric car on his way to get off work, the speed of the car was suddenly stuck at 30 miles per hour (approximately 48km/h), and the brakes did not work at all. He had to call the police for help.

According to him, his car was driving on the A803 in Kirkintilloch near Glasgow. When he was approaching the roundabout, he heard a loud grinding sound and realized that there might be a problem with the vehicle.

Later, he found that his speed was stuck at 30 mph and that applying the brakes had no effect. He was worried about hitting pedestrians or other vehicles, so he called 999.

Soon, three police cars arrived beside his car. At the request of the police, he threw the electronic key out of the car window. He also tried to forcibly turn off the power of the vehicle, but the vehicle did not slow down and a full screen of fault codes lit up on the instrument panel.

After trying many methods to no avail, they decided to slow down the truck behind them. When the vehicle reached a roundabout, the speed was reduced to 15 miles per hour. A truck was approaching. The MG electric vehicle hit the rear of the truck. The driver of the truck slowed down and stopped the vehicle.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "The vehicle was traveling at a low speed and officers carried out a controlled stop with the help of police cars. There was no damage to either vehicle."

At present, MG Motor Europe has not responded to this matter.
