According to the BBC, the University of Exeter, the alma mater of "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling, recently stated that the school will launch the UK's first master's degree program in magic in 2024. Course leaders say the "innovative" MA in Magic and Occult Sciences follows a "recent surge in interest in magic" and will provide an opportunity to study the history of witchcraft and magic around the world and its impact on society and science.

The one-year course will start in September 2024. Experts and scholars in the fields of history, literature, philosophy, archaeology, sociology, psychology, drama, religion and other fields will demonstrate the role of magic in the West and the East.

The university says it is the only postgraduate course in the UK to combine the study of the history of magic with such a wide range of other subjects. Professor Emily Selove said: "Decolonization, exploring alternative epistemologies, feminism and anti-racism are at the heart of this project."

The university says the course can prepare students for jobs in areas such as teaching, consultancy, mentoring, heritage and museum work, libraries, tourism, arts organizations or the publishing industry. This course will be offered in the School of Arabic and Islamic Studies. (Source: BBC)

It is reported that the tuition fee for this major is 12,000 pounds (approximately RMB 106,000) for British students and 24,300 pounds (approximately RMB 216,000) for international students.
