According to news on October 9, today, photographer Dai Jianfeng posted an article on "Jeff's Starry Sky Journey",It said that it has filed a lawsuit with the Tianjin Heping District People's Court against Visual China for illegally selling his photos without his permission and seeking compensation from him.In the Weibo comment area, many netizens left messages to express their "support", and some netizens said, "I support rights protection. This is not the first time that Visual China has done this kind of thing."

It is understood that in August this year, "a photographer who used his own photos was sued by Visual China for infringement and claimed RMB 80,000", which caused a heated discussion on the Internet.

In response to the previous copyright dispute, Visual China explained that the pictures in question were sold by the photographer's authorized photo library StocktrekImages, which in turn authorized the relevant pictures to GettyImages for sale.

As the exclusive partner of GettyImages in mainland China, Visual ChinaIt has complete sales rights, including the relevant pictures involved, and the sales authorization chain of the pictures involved is clear and complete.

In this regard, Dai Jianfeng said that he did not accept Visual China's point of view and had verified it with Stocktrek. Stocktrek clearly informed me: "Visual China has no right to sell my works, nor does it have any copyright in my works. Getty also has no right to sublicense my works again."

at the same time,Stocktrek said it has notified the Visual China website to delete Dai Jianfeng’s related works, and the Getty platform will also contact Visual China to remove Dai Jianfeng’s works.

It is reported that in 2019, Visual China emphasized that the first black hole photo in human history was included in its own gallery, which was their copyrighted image.

The European Southern Observatory ESO "slaps in the face" and pointed out that the copyright of the first black hole photo in human history belongs to the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration (hereinafter referred to as EHT), and ESO is affiliated with EHT.

Therefore these images are free to use and can also be used for commercial purposes as long as the source of the image is properly credited.
