Apple is developing new iPad and MacBook models, but Bloomberg's Mark Gurman believes the devices "won't be released this month." Gurman said in today's PowerOn newsletter:

"Typically, Apple releases new laptops and iPads in October, a month after the latest iPhones and watches go on sale. While I reported in July that Apple planned to release such a product this year, the latest indications are that it won't happen this month."
Gurman went on to say that new iPad Air, iPad mini, and entry-level iPad models are all in development with faster chips, but he doesn't expect "any significant updates to be in the near future." This wording is more vague than his statement above that the iPad "will not be released this month."
Last month, Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that "the new iPad is unlikely to be launched before the end of this year." If this claim is true, 2023 would be the first calendar year in the device's 13-year history without a new iPad release.
As for MacBooks, Gurman expects the next-generation 14-inch MacBook Pro, 16-inch MacBook Pro, 13-inch MacBook Air and 15-inch MacBook Air models to be launched in the first half of 2024. He had no comment on the iMac or other Macs.
SuperchargedNews and 9to5Mac both independently reported this weekend, citing sources, that Apple plans to release updated versions of the iPad Air, iPad Mini and entry-level iPad models this week. Both publications claim that the iPad Air will be updated with an M2 chip and the iPad mini will be updated with an A16 Bionic chip.
The week ahead is going to be one of rumors. Who could be right? We'll find out soon enough.
