Apple Intelligence is still not live in the fourth developer beta of iOS 18 released this week, leading some to wonder if the feature has been delayed. However, we have confirmed that Apple still plans to add some new Apple Intelligence features in an upcoming beta version this summer. In other words, developers will be able to test the first batch of Apple Intelligence features before iOS 18 is widely released to the public.

Given that the public beta version of iOS is based on the developer beta version, the Apple Intelligence system is also likely to be added to the upcoming iOS18 public beta version.

Apple removed the "this summer" time frame that originally appeared at the bottom of its Apple Intelligence for Developers page in mid-June, but as we noted above, nothing has changed from the plans Apple announced at WWDC. These features will likely be added by the end of August, ahead of iOS 18's widespread release in September.

The Apple Intelligence feature is only available in U.S. English at launch and requires iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max. Macs and iPads with M1 chips or newer will also offer these features.

Apple Intelligence will be able to summarize text, prioritize notifications and emails, and generate custom emojis and images. The technology will also power a smarter version of Siri, including richer language understanding, deeper application control, screen awareness, and more. Apple says some of these features, along with support for other languages and software platforms, will be added "next year."

Apple said that even if iOS 18 is widely released in September, some features of Apple Intelligence will still be considered a "preview" for all users. The full rollout of Apple Intelligence features on iPhone is expected to be completed in 2025.
