On July 31, Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism issued a "rectification order" to Toyota to address certification violations required for mass production of automobiles.Ordered to improve organizational structure. It is reported that this is the first time that the Ministry of International Transport and Communications has issued a rectification order to Toyota. An investigation by the Ministry of International Transport and Communications found that seven more Toyota models were found to have illegal operations, including the "Harrier" and "Lexus RX" models.

Illegal operations include using parts that are different from the specifications of mass-produced models when conducting crash tests and other tests, and rewriting test data. In addition to the illegal operations in multiple test projects, the Ministry of International Transport and Communications believes that Toyota lacks self-purification capabilities and has not adequately investigated violations. It requires it to formulate corrective measures within a month and regularly report on the implementation status.

On the same day, Toyota China issued a statement on its official website saying that the certification applications for some additional Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the Japanese market were not standardized and they accepted the rectification requirements. Toyota China sincerely apologizes for the concerns that some models with the same name may have caused to Chinese customers.

It has been confirmed that the models sold by FAW Toyota, GAC Toyota and Lexus in the Chinese market,Relevant certification experiments are strictly in accordance with Chinese laws and regulations and completed under the supervision and guidance of Chinese management departments. They comply with national quality standards and have no safety or quality issues.
