During the third "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum, on October 17, CRRC Changchun Rail Bus Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CRRC Changchun") and the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia officially signed a commercial contract for the purchase of Serbian high-speed EMU vehicles. This is a major breakthrough for China's high-end rail transit equipment to "go global."
The trains signed this time are power-dispersed electric multiple units, including 20 (5 trains) high-speed EMUs. The vehicles are composed of 4 vehicles (2 power trains and 2 trailers), with a maximum operating speed of 200 kilometers per hour. It is planned to be put into use in 2025.
The high-speed EMUs signed this time are based on a mature, safe and reliable technology platform. According to the European Technical Specifications for Interconnection (TSI) and European technical standards, as well as the specific needs of the Hungary-Serbia Railway, the electric multiple units are tailor-made for the Hungary-Serbia Railway. They are smarter, greener, and more comfortable. According to European industry standards, this is also the first time that a Chinese high-speed EMU with a speed of more than 200 kilometers per hour has been exported to Europe.
