Today, a yellow-painted high-speed railway comprehensive inspection train departed from Shanwei Station to Shantou South Station, marking that the Shanwei to Shantou South section of the Shantou-Shantou High-speed Railway has officially entered the dynamic inspection stage, and the joint debugging and testing work of the line has been fully launched.The total length of the Shantou-Shantou high-speed railway line is 162.3 kilometers. The pilot section of this joint commissioning and joint testing is the southern section from Shanwei to Shantou, with a line length of 142.5 kilometers.
The starting point is located at Shantou South Station, Shantou City, and the end point is located at Shanwei Station, Shanwei City. There are 47 bridges, 13 tunnels, a roadbed length of 21 kilometers, a bridge-tunnel ratio of 84.9%, and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
There are 5 stations including Shantou South Station, Chaonan Station, Huilai Station, Lufeng East Station and Lufeng South Station, all of which are newly built.
Since the Shantou-Shantou High-speed Railway was fully constructed in 2019, Guangzhou Railway Group and Guangdong Railway Investment Group have deepened their cooperation. At present, the front and back-station projects of the Shanwei to Shantou southern section of the Shantou-Shantou High-speed Railway have been completed. All four-electric equipment and contact wires have been subjected to live tests, and static acceptance has been completed. The next sprint is to be put into operation before the end of the year.
It is worth mentioning that the Shantou-Shantou Railway will also pass through the Shantou Bay Undersea Tunnel, which is China’s first undersea high-speed rail tunnel with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
