Back in 2022, Insta360 launched the Link webcam. This is a camera with pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) function and people tracking function. It allows you to move freely in the room and the camera will keep the subject in the frame. The latest follow-up model is coming soon, but it will change the design significantly.

Roland Quandt shared some leaked images, and below is a first-hand look at the Insta360 Link2 webcam. As you can see, the motorized pan and tilt mechanisms are no more (the original Link's zoom function relied on AI interpolation rather than optical zoom).

This makes the product package more compact, but eliminates the popular gimbal function of the original Link product. The Link2 may still be able to track via an OIS-type camera that tilts the lens to track moving objects, but it's hard to tell from static images.

Here are some pictures showing the capabilities of Insta360Link2:

Like its predecessor, Insta360Link2 uses a 1/2-inch sensor and f/1.8 lens. Judging from the label below the lens, it can shoot 4K video and will use artificial intelligence for tracking.

@MysteryLupin provided more details - the camera will use an 8MP sensor to shoot 4K (probably 30fps) and 1080p60fps. The Link 2 is said to be priced at $200, which means ditching the gimbal also lowers the price (the original Link costs $300). There's no word yet on how tracking will be implemented. There are also no details on a launch date.
