Samsung may change the way it names its flagship products next year. According to Yogesh Brar, a tipster on social media platform X, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is expected to be unveiled next year, may be named Galaxy S25 Note. Not only that, the tipster also believes that Samsung may rename the Galaxy S25 Plus to the Galaxy S25 Pro.

If this leak is true (and only time will tell), the name change would make more sense in 2022 when Samsung discontinues the Note series and launches the S-Pen-equipped Galaxy S22 Ultra.

However, Samsung now seems to want to give its ultra-premium flagship a unique identity, as other smartphone OEMs such as Xiaomi and Vivo are now giving their top-tier smartphones the "Ultra" moniker.

As for the rumored switch from the Galaxy S25 Plus to the Galaxy S25 Pro, this could be an attempt to give the phone some "Pro" features (if it does happen). It is worth noting that among the current iPhone15 series, iPhone15Pro has more functions than iPhone15Plus.

For now, these are just rumors, and recently, purported renders of the Galaxy S25 Ultra were leaked, suggesting that next year's flagship phone may feature a rounded corner design. Additionally, there are rumors that the Galaxy S25 Ultra may feature an improved camera and become the thinnest Ultra phone since the release of the Note20 Ultra.
