For a long time, the battle royale game "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" has been plagued by cheating. Recently, the anti-cheating team of developer Krafton revealed that it bans more than 100,000 accounts every week, which is a shocking number. The anti-cheating team published a blog post discussing the prevalence of cheating in the game and what the company is doing to combat it.
Officials stated that the anti-cheating team will detect and permanently ban an average of 60,000 accounts (up to 100,000 at most) every week for using, distributing, and selling unauthorized programs, but even so, players will still continue to encounter cheating players.
Officials stated that the account sources of this type of cheating players (unauthorized program users) mainly come from two types: stolen accounts and accounts that use improper means to increase their survival proficiency level.
In response to these two aspects of countermeasures, the official stated that it is deploying artificial intelligence models to detect cheaters, and the detection results are also very impressive. The scale of internally confirmed players/accounts suspected of cheating continues to show an improvement trend. The official commitment is that we will continue to monitor this type of behavior and further optimize our response measures.
