OnePlus has finally launched a foldable phone - OnePlus Open, which brings a shorter and wider book-style foldable design than existing similar products, making it more comfortable to operate. OnePlus Open is based on OPPO's just-released Find N3, but brings that phone's excellent hardware to more markets around the world.

When the lid is closed, the OnePlus Open has a 6.31-inch 2484x1116px SuperFluid LTPO3.0 AMOLED display with a dynamic refresh rate of 10-120Hz and an aspect ratio close to the traditional 20:9. The typical brightness of the panel is 1400nit, and the peak brightness is 2800nit.
Inside the OnePlus Open is a 7.82-inch 2440x2268px Flexi-fluid LTPO3.0 AMOLED display with a 1-120Hz dynamic refresh rate, 1.0758:1 aspect ratio and the same excellent peak brightness.
The OnePlus Open is available in Voyager Black and Emerald Dusk (green), but European buyers can only get the first one. The black model is lighter at 239 grams, while the green model is 245 grams, but they are both lighter than the 253-gram Galaxy Z Fold 5. Additionally, OnePlusOpen comes with a classic alert slider.
The OnePlus Open excels in imaging. It offers five cameras, all tuned by Hasselblad. The main camera on the back is Sony's latest 48-megapixel LYTIA-T808 "pixel stacking" sensor. It measures 1/1.43" and has a 24mm f/1.7 optically stabilized lens on top. The so-called LYTIAT808 sensor uses dual-layer transistor technology - essentially a redesigned pixel structure that promises better light sensitivity.
The ultra-wide-angle camera uses a 48-megapixel 1/2" sensor with a 14mm f/2.2 lens and autofocus function, and the telephoto camera is equipped with a 64-megapixel 1/2" sensor and a 3x70mm f/2.6 anti-shake lens. There are also two selfie cameras - a 20-megapixel one inside the body and a 32-megapixel one on the outside of the display.
OnePlus Open is equipped with Snapdragon Gen2 processor, paired with 16GB LPDDR5X memory and 512GB storage space. This foldable phone uses a 4805mAh battery and supports 67W charging. OnePlus said it takes 42 minutes to charge from 1% to 100%, and it is expected to last more than a day.
When you unfold Open, you're greeted by the OnePlus Canvas interface, which OnePlus says is designed for multitasking. OnePlus claims that 95% of mainstream apps now support Extended Display, allowing users to resize the active window in a multi-window setup to their liking and have up to three windows on screen at any time - both in vertical and horizontal views.
The OnePlus Open is only available in a single 16/512GB configuration, priced at €1,799 or £1,599. Pre-orders start today and will run until October 26th. Those who pre-order will receive OnePlusBuds2Pro for free, and students can also enjoy a 10% discount. Public sales begin on October 27th. New OnePlusOpen users will also enjoy 10% off OnePlusPad and 30% off BudsPro2, NordBuds2 and Buds2R until November 30.
