Recently, a hotel in Hangzhou banned the parking of new energy vehicles in the underground garage. The reason was that it was easy to catch fire and difficult to extinguish, which aroused heated discussion among netizens. Some netizens believe that the hotel treats them differently and the country has not issued regulations. New energy vehicles are prohibited from entering the basement. Why should the hotel not allow them to enter? However, there are also netizens who support that although the hotel does not allow new energy vehicles to enter the basement, it also provides dedicated parking spaces, and the parking spaces are larger and safer, and it does not infringe on the rights of car owners.
Regarding this approach, Li Husheng, a professor-level senior engineer at the China Academy of Work Safety, said that theoretically, vehicle fires can be prevented. He believes that measures should be implemented in different categories for the above three types of fire causes. First of all, to avoid car battery fires, car designers and manufacturers need to control the source.
In addition, the construction and maintenance of charging facilities must be done well. For private car charging equipment, car manufacturers should be responsible for the production, installation and maintenance. Underground garages must also be reasonably equipped with firewalls, automatic fire alarm systems, automatic sprinkler systems, smoke exhaust facilities and other fire protection facilities.
Zhang Xiang, secretary-general of the International Intelligent Transportation Technology Association, said that classifying new energy vehicles and fuel vehicles for parking is expensive and not feasible in places where parking spaces and land are tight.
Zhang Xiang said that now all new energy vehicles are connected to the Internet, and the car's current, voltage, temperature and other parameters can be transmitted to the backend data monitoring center in real time. Once there is an abnormality in the indicators, the owner will be reminded through a text message alarm to achieve controllable risks and nip problems in the bud without worrying too much about safety.
Relevant lawyers also said that currently, there are no clear legal provisions prohibiting new energy vehicles from entering underground garages. Since hotels and shopping malls have certain management responsibilities and authorities, managers may prohibit new energy vehicles from entering underground garages out of safety concerns.
