According to reports, Xpeng Motors' extended-range vehicles are already in planning and will be mass-produced in the second half of next year at the earliest. The planning map of Xpeng's Guangzhou factory exposed by the media shows that the second phase of Xpeng's Guangzhou factory will be put into production of three models, A, B, and C, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 units each. Model B is Xpeng's first plug-in hybrid model.

The body-in-white of the B model is 5100x2000x1750mm in length, width and height, which is larger than the Ideal L8 and Huawei M7. It is expected that the mass production size will be larger.

The new car is a large plug-in hybrid SUV, internally codenamed G01, and is mainly aimed at the price range of more than 200,000 yuan.

The vehicle's range extender is purchased from Dongan Power, a parts supplier that has previously provided range extender components to Li Auto.

The total investment of the second phase of Xpeng’s Guangzhou factory project is 1.2 billion yuan, with a construction period of 18 months.Based on current calculations, it is expected to be put into production in the fourth quarter of 2025 or early 2026.

It is reported that among the new domestic models that are still sticking to the pure electric market, only brands such as Weilai and Jikrypton are left. And the top-selling brands almost all have extended-range models. This may be one of the reasons that led Xpeng Motors to enter the extended-range field.
