Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. President Donald Trump posted on the social media TruthSocial on Friday that if he wins the November election, he will seek to sue Google, accusing it of only showing "bad news" about him during the election.

On September 26, 2024, Republican presidential candidate and former US President Donald Trump spoke to the media at Trump Tower in New York City, USA.

Trump also suggested that some of these messages may be fabricated. Trump also accused Google of being biased in its coverage of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

In his post, Trump did not provide any direct evidence to back up his assertions about Google, saying only that he had "determined" such behavior on the part of Google. He further emphasized that if the Department of Justice does not take action, he will file the highest level lawsuit under U.S. law to pursue Google's "illegal behavior" after he becomes president.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time Trump has made similar accusations against Google. According to the Washington Post, as early as 2019, Trump published a series of posts on Twitter (now renamed X), accusing Google of favoring negative news reports about him during the 2016 presidential election. Google dismissed the accusations at the time.

However, as the U.S. election approaches recently, these old accusations of Trump have been brought up again by his supporters. In July this year, shortly after Trump suffered an attempted assassination, well-known entrepreneur Elon Musk also posted on X, accusing Google of imposing a search ban on Trump.

As of now, Google has not officially responded to Trump’s latest accusation.
