According to news on October 23, today, CNOOC announced that,my country's first 100-billion-square-meter deep coal seam gas field, the Shenfu Deep Coal Seam Gas Field, was discovered on the eastern edge of the Ordos Basin, with proven geological reserves exceeding 110 billion cubic meters.According to CCTV News, the Shenfu Deep Coal Seam Gas Field is located in Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, on the eastern edge of the Ordos Basin. The main coal seams are buried about 2,000 meters deep, and the thickness of a single layer is between 6 meters and 23 meters.
The average gas content per ton of coal reaches 15 cubic meters.Currently, more than 100 exploratory wells have been deployed in this area, with the maximum daily gas production of a single well reaching 26,000 cubic meters.
Coalbed methane refers to natural gas stored in coal seams, commonly known as "gas". The industry usually refers to coalbed methane buried more than 1,500 meters deep as deep coalbed methane.
Compared with mid- to shallow-layer coalbed methane, the deep coalbed methane accumulation mechanism and geological conditions are more complex.
As the burial depth increases,Formation temperature, formation pressure and stress will all increase significantly, making exploration and development more difficult and costly.
It is understood that the Shenfu Deep Coal Seam Gas Field is the second 100-billion-square-meter gas field discovered by CNOOC in the Ordos Basin within three years after Linxing Gas Field in Shanxi.
