Following the exciting announcement of the Raspberry Pi 5 a few weeks ago, Eben Upton has today revealed that production is progressing better than initially expected and these AArch64 single-board computers have begun shipping to customers. Those who pre-ordered the Raspberry Pi 5 as subscribers of TheMagPi and HackSpace magazines will receive all orders by the end of the week.
Every approved Raspberry Pi reseller in all countries where Raspberry Pi 5 compliance documentation is in place will also see first stock of the RPi 5 4GB and 8GB single-board computers this week.
Production will also continue to ramp up, and by the end of calendar 2023, they expect the Raspberry Pi 5 to be readily available for purchase from any approved reseller.
Current production rates for the Raspberry Pi 5 have not yet been announced, but their production progress appears to be good.
