Apple will announce several new M4 Mac models around the end of October, and the company plans to launch at least a few of them on Friday, November 1. Bloomberg reporter Gurman wrote in his latest PowerOn newsletter that Apple will launch a new M4 version of the low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro, as well as higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models using M4 Pro and M4 Max chips.

Desktop Macs haven't been left out of the update plan either, with Gurman reporting that Apple plans to launch a redesigned Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro chip options. In addition, the iMac will also receive an update, and Apple's all-in-one desktops will eventually transition to the M4 chip.

According to reports, the new iPad mini is also coming soon, and the release date may be in early November. This will be Apple's first update since redesigning its smallest tablet in 2021.

Looking ahead, Gurman outlined Apple's hardware plans for the first half of 2025. The company is expected to launch 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models equipped with M4 processors, new iPhone SE equipped with Apple Intelligence technology, updated 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models equipped with new Magic Keyboard, and new Air Tags.

High-end Mac users may have to wait longer for updates to their desktop range. While new MacStudio and MacPro models equipped with M4 chips are in development, Gurman said they will be released at a later date. MacStudio is expected to launch around mid-2025, and MacPro will launch by the end of the year.
