Recently, many users discovered that after upgrading to the 24H2 update of Windows 11,When using Chromium technology-based applications (such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Slack, Spotify, etc.), the mouse pointer suddenly disappears when moving in the text input box. This strange phenomenon has attracted widespread attention.

After in-depth investigation, technicians found that the problem was due to a compatibility issue caused by the system mouse pointer being set to a custom icon after the Windows 1124H2 update. In other words, when the mouse pointer is personalized, compatibility with certain applications is affected, causing the pointer to disappear.

To combat this issue, technicians recommend users to reset the mouse pointer to the default icon. This operation can restore the normal display of the pointer, thus solving the problems encountered when using Chromium-based applications.

Although users have found a solution, it is worth noting that Microsoft has not officially confirmed this problem or released a formal solution. Therefore, users still need to pay attention so that they can update the system in time when Microsoft releases official fixes to ensure the stability and security of the system.

The solution is as follows:

Open Mouse Properties: Open the Mouse Properties window through Control Panel (do not use the Settings application).

Select the pointer: In the mouse properties window, click the Pointer tab.

Reset the pointer icon: In the Customize area, select Text Selection, then click Browse. Select the "beam_r" icon from the list, which is the default pointer icon for Windows.

Confirm and save: Click the "OK" button.

Through the above steps, you can reset the mouse pointer to the default icon, thereby solving the problem of the pointer disappearing.
