Executives of Foxconn parent company Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. revealed on Tuesday (October 8) that the company is building the world's largest Nvidia GB200 manufacturing plant in Mexico to help alleviate the huge demand for Nvidia's Blackwell platform. Foxconn is the world's largest electronics OEM and Apple's largest iPhone assembler. The company also makes servers, which means it's also benefiting from the artificial intelligence boom.
At Hon Hai’s annual Technology Day on Tuesday, Benjamin Ting, the company’s senior vice president in charge of the cloud enterprise solutions business group, said the cooperation between Foxconn and Nvidia is very important. "We are building the largest GB200 production facility in the world," Ting noted.
Ting also added that everyone wants to use Nvidia's Blackwell platform and "the demand is huge."
In addition, during the Technology Day event, Hon Hai Chairman Liu Yangwei pointed out that artificial intelligence is of great commercial value to enterprises, and said that Hon Hai’s manufacturing capabilities are being redefined by artificial intelligence.
Liu Yangwei emphasized that Hon Hai’s supply chain is ready, including our vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities, as well as the advanced coolant and cooling technology required to support the GB200 server infrastructure.
It is worth mentioning that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang attended Foxconn’s Technology Day event last year, but he did not participate this year.
