During the National Day Golden Week, Meituan Drones added drone delivery routes at the fifth south tower of the Badaling Great Wall to deliver emergency commodities such as food, drinks, and rain gear to tourists in a timely manner. This service not only improves tourists’ experience of visiting the scenic spot, but also enhances the scenic spot’s emergency support capabilities and daily operation and maintenance digitalization level.

Data shows that during the National Day holiday, the average daily order volume of Meituan’s drone Great Wall route increased by more than 1,100% compared with the pre-holiday weekend period, with Chinese and Western simple meals, drinks, etc. becoming hot-selling products.

At the same time, due to the changeable local weather, emergency products such as umbrellas and raincoats are also popular among tourists, with top sales. Not only that, the efficiency of drone delivery has also been fully demonstrated, and tourists' waiting time has been greatly reduced.

In addition, Meituan drones also use special cleaning boxes to transport waste, food bags, etc. near the landing point to the bottom of the mountain in a timely manner. This measure not only protects the environment but also saves cleaning manpower.

Data shows that as of the end of December 2023, Meituan drones have launched 25 routes in 11 business districts in cities such as Shenzhen and Shanghai. The delivery services cover a variety of scenarios such as offices, scenic spots, municipal parks, medical care, and campuses, and a total of more than 220,000 user orders have been completed.

In terms of delivery efficiency, drone delivery is nearly 40% more efficient than traditional modes, saving consumers more than 10,000 hours of waiting time last year.
