For a brief period after a new iPhone is released, if a customer needs repair, Apple Stores and authorized service providers must replace the entire device because individual parts are not immediately available. According to an internal memo, starting this week, parts for all four iPhone 15 models will be available in stores, and Apple stores and Apple authorized service providers can complete original repairs on these devices. The range of parts includes back glass, batteries, speakers, displays, rear cameras and mid-frames.

According to the memo, repairs involving the haptic engine or main microphone of the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max will still require complete replacement, as these parts will not be available until later.
All four iPhone 15 models are equipped with removable back glass, allowing technicians to open the devices from the front and back for repairs. Compared with iPhone 15 models without removable back glass, this change greatly reduces repair costs for users without AppleCare+ when the back glass breaks. Last year, Apple first made this design change on the low-end iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
In the United States, Apple has set battery replacement costs for all four iPhone 15 models at $99, unchanged from the iPhone 14 series.
