The long-rumored COMAC C909 has finally made its debut, but it’s not quite what everyone imagined. Recently, Weibo user "Rabbit who doesn't eat carrots" posted a picture of himself. The C909 model photographed at Shanghai Pudong Airport has a blue tail paint (C919 is green, C929 is red).
When the C909 was first rumored, everyone thought it was a brand new model, or a shorter version of the C919.Unexpectedly, the name was eventually changed to ARJ21.
The ARJ21 passenger aircraft is the first new turbofan regional aircraft with independent intellectual property rights independently developed by my country in accordance with international standards. The project was approved by the state in April 2002. It successfully made its first flight in Shanghai on November 28, 2008, and successfully made its maiden flight on June 28, 2016, achieving the first breakthrough of domestically produced jetliners on my country's routes.
It has a range of 2,225-3,700 kilometers, a maximum take-off weight of 40,500 kilograms, and a maximum operating altitude of 11,900 meters. It has characteristics such as adaptability, comfort, economy, commonality, and serialization.
According to reports, the C909 exposed this time is equivalent to the Pro version of the ARJ21, which will improve fuel economy, improve and optimize the avionics system and flight control system, and have a maximum seating capacity of 97.
After this model is officially launched, it will form the full lineup of COMAC’s C-series family with C919 and C929.
However, the C929 domestic wide-body large aircraft is still being designed and developed and will not be available until a little later.
