On October 15, the first day of the 2024 Paris Auto Show, Xpeng announced Xpeng Motors Globalization Strategy 2.0 and its new commitment to the European market, and shared Xpeng's new goals for international business. At the same time, He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of Xpeng Motors, announced that the world's first AI car, Xpeng P7+, has officially started pre-sale, with the pre-sale price starting from 209,800 yuan.
In terms of product strength, He Xiaopeng proposed the concept of three + at the press conference, which well explained the origin of the name P7+, namely technology +, space + and comfort +.
In terms of technology +, the entire Xpeng P7+ series is equipped with Xpeng’s new generation AI eagle eye vision solution for the first time. This is the industry's first single-pixel Lofic architecture purely visual solution. Compared with traditional cameras, it has more accurate, clearer and farther information collection capabilities.
At present, XNGP can bring users an AI smart driving experience regardless of road conditions and routes. It can truly be used nationwide and is easy to use nationwide. At the same time, the new car will be equipped with version 5.4.0 of the AI Tianji system for the first time, enabling XNGP to be activated at 0 speed and started in place.
In terms of space+, the wheelbase of the Xpeng P7+ reaches 3000mm, with an ultra-high space utilization rate of 88% and an effective seating space utilization rate of 65%. Even people over 1.8 meters tall can easily enjoy the comfortable feeling brought by the large space. In terms of storage capacity, the trunk of the Xpeng P7+ adopts a hatchback opening method, with an opening of 1 meter x 1 meter x 1 meter. Under standard conditions, the trunk size reaches 725L, and with the rear row folded down, it can even accommodate 33 20-inch suitcases. Compared with many overseas hot-selling Wagon models, the space experience of the P7+ is better.
In terms of comfort+, Xpeng P7+ integrates the "space on the cloud" design language to create a mobile luxury comfort cabin for users from multiple dimensions such as vision and touch. The car is equipped with full-featured cloud-sense comfortable seats, which adopt an 8-layer design structure, including 20mm slow rebound zero-pressure sponge and 120mm firm support foam layer. In addition, the front and rear seats of Xpeng P7+ support massage, heating, and ventilation functions. The industry's first 6 smart scene massages ensure that front and rear users can have a consistent comfortable riding experience. All the above configurations are standard in the Xpeng P7+.
Based on expectations for the development of AI, Xpeng Motors hopes to become a global AI car company in the next decade. In order to achieve development goals, at the product and technical level, Xpeng's AI system will cover five major elements: large computing chips, large AI models, AI cars, robots and flying cars. The first two serve as the basis for the implementation of the last three.
The Turing chip independently developed by Xpeng has been successfully taped out. This is the world's first AI chip that is used in AI cars, AI robots and flying cars at the same time. It has a 40-core processor, which can provide powerful computing support for large models and adapt to L4 level autonomous driving safety requirements. At the same time, the end-to-end large model has also been implemented. The large model can enable vehicles to achieve an L4 level high-end smart driving experience based on L2 level hardware and cost.
