Many Overwatch fans miss the early days of the game. Blizzard is also preparing for this: the "Overwatch: Classic" limited-time mode will be launched in "Overwatch 2" on November 12 and will last until December 2.

In a new FAQ, the developer clarified that Overwatch: Classic is not a standalone game. The mode will be available in Activity Center and Arcade mode, where the 21 original heroes can be experienced in their original form.

There will be no hero or character restrictions for the first few days, after which a single hero restriction will apply. In order to ensure an authentic gaming experience, the original four role positions (defense, offense, tank and support) are retained in the game.

Of course, it's not exactly the same hero shooter that launched in 2016. While the original 12 maps are present, any reworks will still apply. In addition to the default skin, you cannot equip other skins, and features such as loot boxes and original competitive modes do not exist.

Blizzard notes that this is the "first" Overwatch: Classic event, with other events focusing on popular elements such as tri-tank/tri-support and the Moth element since Mercy's first rework.
