SKhynix announced today that it has begun to provide customers with 16GB packaged LowPowerDoubleDataRate5Turbo (LPDDR5T) storage particles. This is currently the fastest DRAM for mobile devices, with a transmission speed of up to 9.6Gbps per second. Since successfully developing LPDDR5T in January this year, SKhynix has been conducting performance verification with global mobile application processor (AP) manufacturers to prepare for the commercialization of the product.
SKhynix explains that LPDDR5T is the best memory to maximize smartphone performance, reaching the highest speeds ever. The company also emphasized that it will continue to expand the application scope of this product and lead the generational change in the mobile DRAM field. The LPDDR5T16GB package operates within the 1.01 to 1.12V ultra-low voltage range specified by the Joint Electronic Devices Engineering Council (JEDEC) and can process 77GB of data per second, which is equivalent to transmitting 15 full high-definition (FHD) movies in one second.
The company recently started delivering products to global smartphone manufacturer Vivo, which also announced that its latest smartphones, the X100 and X100 Pro, will be equipped with SKhynix’s latest memory particles.
These devices will also run with MediaTek's latest flagship mobile phone processor Dimensity9300. In August this year, SKhynix confirmed that it had completed performance verification using MediaTek's next-generation mobile AP.
