At this year's BlizzCon, Blizzard announced three expansion packs for "World of Warcraft", namely "War for the Center of the Earth", "Midnight" and "The Last Titan". Recently, game director Ion Hazzikostas was interviewed by foreign media PCGamer and explained the reason for this.

Hazzikostas said that such behavior will definitely surprise fans, but more radical plans have already tasted the sweetness in "Age of Dragons". He plans longer-term content in advance and makes the plan transparent. The team will do this in the future. He said: "In order to maintain the development of Warcraft and even achieve growth, we have to continue to evolve. Not only how things have been handled in the past, but also how players play now and what they want."

"This is our plan and has been for a while. Saying it out loud will make it real, show players that we have big plans for the future of this game, and let them know."

Hazzikostas said that releasing three expansion packs at one time shows the team’s ambition and at the same time makes players look forward to the plot of "War for the Center of the Earth". Just like the Marvel movies, it will be part of a huge story.

Hazzikostas also said: "From a creative perspective, having clarity has been a huge benefit to the entire development team, letting us know where we are going and allowing us to now do deeper storytelling and world-building." He emphasized that although three expansion packs were announced at one time, the content of each expansion pack would not be reduced. As in the past, 4 regions, 8 dungeons, new raids, new levels, etc. were all standard.
