On December 9, the Long March 8 Ayaoyi carrier rocket was successfully loaded onto the ship and headed to the Wenchang Space Launch Site in China. It will carry out its first flight in January next year. The Long March 8 rocket made its first flight in December 2020. It uses green and environmentally friendly liquid propellant and a modular combination design, filling the gap in my country's 3-5 tons sun-synchronous orbit carrying capacity.
The Long March 8A rocket will be my country's main rocket in medium and low orbits in the future. Based on the Long March 8 rocket, it has been specially improved and developed to meet the future medium and low orbit mega-constellation launch requirements. It has the characteristics of advanced performance, low cost, high reliability, and rapid launch.
Its 700-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit carrying capacity reaches 7 tons, and it is suitable for two diameter fairings of 4.2 meters and 5.2 meters.
It is reported that,The development of the Long March 8A rocket lasted 28 months, with a total of 44 large-scale ground tests completed and a number of key technologies overcome.
In the future, the Long March 8 series of rockets will form a gradient coverage of 3-ton, 5-ton, and 7-ton levels in sun-synchronous orbits of 700 kilometers to meet the needs of different users for networked launches.
