Expanding U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) andShares of Palantir Technologies (PLTR) rose more than 7% in premarket trading on Monday after the company signed a contract to provide advanced artificial intelligence and task manager capabilities.

The contract establishes Palantir as the lead software integrator for the USSOCOM mission command system, with a one-year delivery value of $36.8 million.

This contract award marks the first deployment of Palantir’s mission managers to special forces. Task Manager leverages Palantir’s secure, Kubernetes-based infrastructure to simplify the government’s process of bringing emerging technologies from commercial software vendors into a secure environment.

The expanded agreement also supports pilot projects across the broader command, including efforts to bring Palantir’s advanced artificial intelligence capabilities to USSOCOM.
